The brief was to relaunch birthday parties at McDonald’s South Africa, amplifying Happy, the global kids Happy Meal character. We proposed that a booking website be central to the experience. And given the characters' name that it be called McDonald's Happy Birthday, with the logo staying within the Happy Meal look and feel.
We did extensive research on McDonald's Birthday Party offering in other countries. The Australian website was the most comprehensive and user-friendly. We recommended using this website as a starting point but with additional services, like themes, and integrating it with the existing McDonald's website
